About me

As a child, I spent countless hours dreaming of becoming a soccer star. When I was thirteen I even took a test to get into the ranks of F.C. Barcelona, my home team, but the trainer back then, Johann Cruyff, was not impressed by the two goals I scored in the test match. My childhood dream would not last much longer…

As a teenager, beautiful girls replaced soccer as my number one obsession. When I was fifteen I fell crazily in love with a classmate of mine, but when, two years later, I managed to summon all my courage to propose to her, the answer was a very polite yet unambiguous no. I have never been crazily in love again…

During my high school years, I also began to develop an interest for science, and this would eventually become the subject of my professional career: some years later I would graduate in biochemistry and now I am a postdoctoral researcher in the field of developmental biology. My dream of making an important contribution to science is, however, still a dream…

The main reason why I became a scientist is that I am a very curious person. This also leads me to spending a lot of time reading books, surfing the internet or watching videos, all with the goal of understanding this world of ours a little better. Apart from science, I am also very interested in history, since I think the present doesn’t make any sense when disconnected from the past.

Given my previous success at having my dreams come true, at some point in my life I decided that I had better care about being happy here and now, rather than keep making sacrifices for a future that may never come.

Carpe Diem!
